Depression
Feelings of sadness are a common emotion that every person will experience at certain points in their life. Sometimes, it is related to a specific life event; the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, the passing of a loved one, a difficult life transition, or unexpected, disappointing news are some examples that can affect one's mood in a negative and/or difficult way. When experiencing sadness, people often find relief in crying, talking about their feelings, venting, or sitting with the deep discomfort until it passes. However, when one finds that sadness does not fade or pass with time, and that it may not be related to any specific occurrence or situation, the person can possibly be experiencing feelings of depression. By exploring these feelings in therapy, we can both understand and make space for what you are currently experiencing and work together in order to identify a path forward.
